Specimen Handling Client Services 804-828-PATH (828-7284); 1-800-363-9234
Hematology tests are extremely sensitive to methods of collection and preservation. It is important that the sample collection and processing instructions be followed so accurate test results can be obtained.

Unacceptable Specimen Samples
Samples which are incorrectly collected, labeled, processed, or transported will not produce accurate results. When a sample is not acceptable, you will be notified by telephone. If you have any question prior to collection or transportation of a sample, please contact Client Services 804-828-PATH (828-7284); 1-800-363-9234 for more information.

The Clinical Pathology Receiving area is located on the 6th floor of the Clinical Support Center (CSC) building at 403 N 13th Street in Richmond, VA; phone (804) 828-6767.

Test Results
Test results will be phoned and faxed by the Hematology staff to the ordering institution upon completion of testing. Pathology Client Services will auto fax the test results to the ordering institution. These results should be received the next business day after test completion. If you would like results mailed to an additional person, please include this information on the test requisition form.
