3-2 Myocardial Infarction Note the extensive necrosis of the myocytes and the infiltration by neutrophils. This histology corresponds to a 3 to 4 day old infarction.
3-3 Myocardial Infarction In this cross-section of a left ventricle note the transmural necrosis indicated by yellow discoloration of the anterior wall. This infarct is approximately 4 to 6 days old.
