Lab 1b Slides 11.1-11.2--Acute Purulent Meningitis

The subarachnoid space contains purulent exudate composed of neutrophils and fibrin. Examination of the CSF in this case showed the following: Cells - 2300 with 90% polys; Protein 300 mg; Sugar 0 (blood sugar level 120 mg/dl); gram positive diplococci.
