Lab 1d Slides 17.1-17.3--Meningioma

Meningiomas are derived from arachnoidal cells. The histology of these tumors is quite variable. The tumor in some of them is composed of meningeothelial cells. Some other tumors are composed of elongated cells and are called fibroblastic meningioma. Sometimes both cellular elements are present in the tumor. Two characteristic features of most meningiomas are: 2) whorl formation b) psammoma body. In general these tumors are benign.
