(52) Bacterial meningitis: This shows the characteristic gross appearance of purulent meningitis. In addition to copious exudate, note severe vascular congestion and thrombosis of venous sinuses. The latter is a serious complication of suppurative meningitis.
(53) Alzheimer's Disease: Typical senile plaques with central core and degenerating swollen neurites around it. Note many neurofibrillary tangles.
(54) Medulloblastoma: A tumor in the cerebellum of a 9-year-old boy.
