Image 1 of 1 Inflammatory cells. Polymyositis together with Dermatomyositis and Inclusion Body Myositis are inflammatory myopathies. One of the clue elements common to all of them is the presence of mononuclear inflammatory cells, predominantly lymphocytes. The lymphocytes have little cytoplasm and contain irregular nuclei with dark-staining chromatin at the periphery as seen in this photo.
