A cortical adenoma is a benign tumor composed of uniform population of lipid-laden cells resembling normal cortical cells. The nuclei are small, uniform, with no atypia or mitotic activity. The cytoplasmic lipid content of these cells is dissolved during processing, this imparts a “clear” appearance to the cells.
