The Pathology faculty hopes you have a good learning experience in each of these three diverse sessions. The purposes of these laboratory sessions are to:

  • Complement theoretical lectures.
  • Let you see the pathologic changes which underlie the symptoms and signs of the diseases presented to you.
  • Give you an opportunity to participate actively in a small group setting.

The practical examination covers radiology and pathology of bones and joints, and dermatopathology. There will be about 15 questions, each worth one point toward the final course grade. The material shown on the exam will include lesions seen in the lab sessions and lectures (power point). They cover the gross and histopathologic features of the various lesions that are projected during lectures and available in the supplemental images on arthritis. These images will help you understand joint disease by visualizing it. The images are also accompanied by many good clinicopathologic features of the lesions.

Please note that self-study Arthritis images are available by clicking the following link:
Arthiritis Lab.
Test questions are taken from this instructional material.

Please attend your assigned sections during the labs
