Hemorrhage--lung (Recent infarct). The contents of the alveolar spaces consist of red blood cells resulting from hemorrhage. The alveolar walls are necrotic.

Atherosclerosis--aorta. The adventitia and media show no significant pathologic changes. In some areas the intima is of normal thickness, but in other areas it is markedly thickened due to the atheromas. Atheromas are composed of fibrobatty plaques.
