SUMMER FELLOWSHIP FOR FIRST YEAR MEDICAL STUDENTS

The Virginia Commonwealth University Pathology Summer Fellowship is a six week summer research program offering students the opportunity to work with MCV/VCU Pathology faculty. A stipend of $1,500 is paid. Student fellows present short seminars of their work to the Pathology faculty upon completion of the program. These seminars are generally scheduled during the month of August, preceding the regular, Virginia Commonwealth University fall semester.

Fellowships are limited to four positions in a calendar year. An application is available online in PDF format (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader), or you may obtain one from Dr. Enrique Gerszten, Vice Chair of Pathology Education . Your application must be returned to Dr. Gerszten along with a copy of your CV or resume. Applications, CVs and resumes are reviewed upon receipt.

Candidates are interviewed in the spring by several Pathology faculty members. A scale is used to select the four students.

Please contact Dr. Gerszten for further information, or to answer any questions you may have about the Pathology Summer Fellowship Program:
