"Why Would Anybody Sue a Pathologist: Anatomy of Medical Malpractice Action"

This week's presentation was given by Michael L. Goodman, Esq., of Goodman, Allen & Filetti, PLLC, Attorney At Law. Joining Mr. Goodman to field questions on behalf of VCU Health System was Brenda G. Nichols, Director of Risk Management for VCUHS and MCV Physicians.

Mr. Goodman's presentation met the following educational objectives:

  • Discuss the primary legal components of a medical malpractice action
  • Define and discuss: duty, breach, causation, and damages in the context of a medical malpractice action
  • Discuss the risk and prevention of claims in medical malpractice against pathologists
