"The Role of the Transfusion Committee in a Transfusion Excellence Program:
Can Transfusion Practice Be Altered?"

Susan D. Roseff, MD, Director of Transfusion Medicine, Associate Professor of Pathology presented last week's grand rounds lecture for faculty, residents and staff.

Dr. Roseff's topic, "The Role of the Transfusion Committee in a Transfusion Excellence Program: Can Transfusion Practice Be Altered?," is highlighted in the following educational objectives:

  • Learn about the function of a hospital Blood Utilization Committee.
  • Understand the factors that influence physician behavior and their decisions about transfusion.
  • Become familiar with the reasons for implementing a program to re-evaluate transfusion practice in an institution.
