GRAND ROUNDS PRESENTATION

"Evaluation of plasmapheresis in patients at high risk of renal allograft rejection"

Kimberly Sanford, MD, Medical Director, Transfusion Services with Commonwealth Laboratory Consultants, Chippenham Medical Center, Richmond, VA, presented this week's grand rounds lecture for faculty, residents and staff.

Dr. Sanford's topic, "Evaluation of plasmapheresis in patients at high risk of renal allograft rejection," is highlighted in the following educational objectives:

  • Discuss type of renal graft rejection.
  • Discuss pre-transplant testing of donor and recipient.
  • Discuss role of plasmapheresis in treating acute humoral rejection.
  • Review VCU data.
  • Review additional interventions.
