GRAND ROUNDS PRESENTATION

"Case Studies in Cocaine" by Karen Cline-Parhamovich, DO

"Small Cell Carcinoma of the Ovary"

Jean Thomsen, MD, graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, and Surgical Pathology fellow presented this week's grand rounds lecture for faculty, residents and staff. Dr. Thomsen's topic covered, "Small Cell Carcinoma of the Ovary."

Karen Cline-Parhamovich, DO, graduate of the Ohio University of Osteopathic Medicine and Chief Resident in the Department of Pathology was the other Grand Rounds speaker. Dr. Cline-Parhamovich's topic, "Case Studies in Cocaine," is highlighted in the following educational objectives:

  • Discuss cocaine processing and pharmacology.
  • Review detection of cocaine in metabolites.
  • Describe relevant autopsy cases which illustrate cardiovascular and neurological complications of cocaine use.
