GRAND ROUNDS PRESENTATION

"Ensuring Quality in a Multi-Hospital Point of Care Program"

Barbara Goldsmith, PhD, Director of Laboratory Services from St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, MA, presented this week's grand rounds lecture for faculty, residents and staff.

Dr. Goldsmith's topic, "Ensuring Quality in a Multi-Hospital Point of Care Program," is highlighted in the following educational objectives:

  • Explain the components required for a quality-driven, successful Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) program.
  • Explain the differences between the design and implementation of single- and multi-site (POCT) programs.
  • Discuss medical errors and approaches to error reduction as it relates to POCT.
