Dan Klink, MD, both fellows in the Department of Pathology, presented last week's grand rounds lecture for faculty, residents and staff.
Dr. Veerappan's topic, "Cystic fibrosis: A paradigm for molecular based screening methods," is highlighted in the following educational objectives:
- Understand the pathophysiology of CFTR mutations.
- Understand the reason for offering prenatal screening and issues related to reporting.
- Understand issues related to choosing number of mutations to be included in a screening panel for cystic fibrosis.
