Marie Do, MD, both from the Department of Pathology at Virginia Commonweatlh University, presented last week's grand rounds lecture for faculty, residents and staff.
Dr. Do's topic, "Rapid Identification of Respiratory Viruses," is highlighted in the following educational objectives:
- Understand the importance of rapid detection of respiratory viruses.
- Discuss two new methods for the rapid identification of respiratory viruses in the clinical laboratory.

Dr. Giashuddin's topic, "Correlation of DNA Mismatch Repair Genes, Hormone Receptor Status and Proliferation Markers in Male Breast Cancer," accentuated these educational objectives:
- Become familiar with male breast cancer and its pathogenesis at the subcellular level.
- Discuss the role of DNA Mismatch Repair (MMR) Genes in sporadic male cancers.
- Describe the correlation of hormone receptors (ER, PR, Her-2/Neu) with MMR genes expression in male breast cancer.
