GRAND ROUNDS PRESENTATION

"Frozen Section Diagnosis in Gynecologic Pathology"

Carmen Tornos, MD, Professor of Pathology and Director of Anatomic Pathology from Stony Brook University Medical Center, Stony Brook, NY, presented this week's grand rounds lecture for faculty, residents and staff.

Dr. Tornos' topic, "Frozen Section Diagnosis in Gynecologic Pathology," is highlighted in the following educational objectives:

  • Know the most common valid reasons to request frozen section diagnosis in gynecological cases.
  • Know the best way to handle such requests, including gross assessment, microscopic examination and possible pitfalls.
