“A Brief Overview of Forensic Pathology and Death Investigation:
Challenges and Opportunities”

Gregory J. Davis, MD FCAP, Director, Autopsy Services, Professor of Pathology & Lab Medicine, University of Kentucky, recently presented the Pathology grand rounds lecture for faculty, residents and staff.

Dr. Davis' topic, "A Brief Overview of Forensic Pathology and Death Investigation: Challenges and Opportunities," is highlighted in the following educational objectives:

  • Discuss the challenges facing pathologists and death investigators in their daily work.
  • Explain how modern cultural entertainment has affected the practice of forensic pathology.
  • Understand the importance of proper certification of death for purposes of health surveillance and the pursuit of justice.
