Two third-year Pathology residents at Virginia Commonwealth University, recently presented the Pathology grand rounds lecture for faculty, residents and staff.
Dr. Kimmelshue's lecture topic, "Molecular Chaperone Expression during Breast Cancer Progression," is highlighted in the following educational objectives:
- Explain the biology of the chaperone protein Hsp90 and its co-chaperone p23.
- Describe the concept of tissue microarrays and how they can be used to evaluate the prevalence of markers.
- Discuss possible anti-cancer therapeutics involving Hsp90.
Dr. Robert's lecture topic, "Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasm: A Case Report," is highlighted in the following educational objectives:
- Discuss the differential diagnosis of splenic rupture.
- Discuss diagnosis and treatment of metastatic gestational trophoblastic neoplasms.
