Regina Burton: "Stem Cells (CD44+/CD24- or low) are Differentially Expressed in Triple Negative (ER-, PR- and Her2-) Invasive Mammary Carcinoma Phenotype"

Joseph Jakowski: "Hodgkins Lymphoma: An Illustrated History- from the work of the morbid anatomist to the early cellular pathologist"

March 7, 2008

Two cytopathology fellows at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, recently presented the Pathology grand rounds lecture for faculty, residents and staff.

Dr. Burton's topic, "Stem Cells (CD44+/CD24- or low) are Differentially Expressed in Triple Negative (ER-, PR- and Her2-) Invasive Mammary Carcinoma Phenotype," is highlighted in the following educational objectives:

  • Define the phenotypic characteristics of breast cancer stem cells.
  • Evaluate breast cancer stem cell expression from an immunohistochemistry and molecular prospective, particularly in relation to the triple negative phenotype (ER-, PR- and Her 2-) of breast carcinoma.
