GRAND ROUNDS PRESENTATION

"Effective feedback and evaluation techniques for residency training"

Teresa J. Carter, Ed.D., Director of the M.Ed. Program for Medical Educators, VCU School of Education, presented this week's grand rounds lecture for faculty, residents and staff.

Dr. Carter's topic,"Effective feedback and evaluation techniques for residency training" is highlighted in the following educational objectives:

  • Explore the role of self-assessment in using feedback and evaluation for personal and professional development.
  • Complete a self-assessment questionnaire and determined at least three areas in which they want to improve their abilities to deliver effective feedback to others.
  • Review a six-step feedback delivery model.
  • Discuss the role of formative and summative evaluation in improving performance.
