Dr. Rahman's topic, "Infectious Etiology of Granulomatous Inflammation on Bone Marrow Biopsy" is highlighted in the following educational objectives:
- Review the indications for bone marrow biopsy for non-hematopoietic diseases.
- Understand the role of laboratory methods for detection of fungal and mycobacterial microorganisms on bone marrow biopsy.
- Understand the correlation between histologic identification of granulomatous inflammation on bone marrow biopsy and detection of microorganisms through histochemical stain and microbiological culture.
